Music for a while
Solo song in England reached a highpoint in Henry Purcell, the English Orpheus.
This programme features some well known songs alongside less often performed gems and are interspesed with instrumental music by Matthew Locke and Daniel Purcell.


Theorbo solo
The theorbo or Chitarrone was named after the Greek Kithara and was invented in Florence around 1590.
It is the largest of the lute family and has deep bass strings and marvellous warm sound.
This programme features music by all the major composers who wrote for the instrument including Kapsberger, Piccinini, Castaldi and Robert de Visee
